When left to my own devices

When I'm stuck taking my own outfit photos, funny things happen. I stand in front of my camera and just can't fight the urge to make ridiculous faces. You know, like when you're a kid in front of a mirror, or when you're looking out the car window during a long and boring road trip. Yeah, those kinds of faces. The kind that most bloggers likely wouldn't put on their blogs. But, if you ask me, they are just too goofy and silly not to share. So, along with a few "real" outfit photos, I have included some fun ones for your viewing pleasure. I hope they brighten up your Monday.

Not only are these photos too goofy and fun not to share, they also showcase the beauty of my favourite scarf. I found this little guy at Value Village a couple of years ago and have worn it to death ever since. I seriously adore the colours and the gold and every little thing about it. It really is the perfect scarf.

Do you ever get the urge to make silly faces when there's a camera pointed in your direction?

  1. All the time. All the frickin' time. ;-) And that scarf is so pretty! I love the colors, and I really like the way it drapes.

  2. I really have a hard time taking a "serious" picture of myself. I feel awkward in front of the camera, so I feel the need to make hilarious faces. You are adorable! The top photo on the right is definitely my favorite.

  3. I always have to make a face at LEAST once if there's a camera out, because I can make my face so ugly it's just too good not to share. My dad absolutely hates it and used to lecture about it to me constantly, then I found a photo where I was 2-3yrs old.. and making the GROSSEST face ever. Still one of my treasures today haha!

  6. Very hilarious! I think I have seen most of these faces in person.

I have a naturally dorky face, that lends itself quite easily to making such faces. Less now that I am getting older and I find that those weird faces leave wrinkles...so...yeah...

  7. I think I have the same scarf just in different colours! I have never ever seen anyone with the same scarf and I was very happy about it but on the other hand I wanted to see how someone else would wear the same thing. So I am glad I finally found someone, it looks great on you.

By the way, here is a good story, I am sure you will appreciate it, so many don't... So I found that scarf by the pavement in a festival and I loved the colours, I immediately fell for it. But when I picked up it was full of vomit. My friends were all like 'oh that is just gross!' but I couldn't leave the scarf, so I took it, put it in a plastic bag, washed it like 6 times and there you are, I am wearing it with pride now. Everyone keeps asking me where I got it from and when I tell the story everyone gets disgusted.

So anyway, I like your scarf a LOT!

    1. Ha! Best. story. ever. I actually found my second favourite scarf on the street, too. Although it wasn't used as a puke bucket. That is true devotion to an found-accessory. No wonder you love it so much now.

Also, you saved it from ending up in the trash. Very few people would throw a vomit-covered scarf in a bag to take home for a much needed wash. You deserve a massive high-five for that!

  9. Sucha pretty scarf and I love the funny faces :) Sometimes bloggers take themselves too seriously, myself included! At my job I sit in front of the computer all day, and sometimes I find myself making ridiculous faces just so my face doesn't get stuck forever in a monotonous stare! Then I quickly glance around to see if anyone saw haha!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

  10. I always seem to make silly faces right at the last second; like I'll be posing normal, and then suddenly decide to change right before the click, and it just comes out goofy. It's just so awkward taking pictures of yourself, so I think we do it to not feel so silly...if that makes sense...

  11. I can ONLY make silly faces when a camera is pointed at me. It's like I forget how to smile. And also don't know what to do with my hands. But that just means I have a collection of hilarious pictures of myself. I prefer that over super serious snapshots.

On another note, I neeeeeeeeeed to know where your glasses are from. I love them!

  14. You look cute! hah, and when there is a camera pointed in my direction my first instinct is to look away because I hate getting my photo taken, which makes outfit photos REALLY fun. :) xoxo

  15. I do the exact same thing! In fact I do it even when Will is taking the pictures. I am pretty sure I have 100s of silly faced ones, and then 4 actually decent ones hahaha! On a side note your goofy faces are pretty darn adorable!
